Second Saturday at Brunk Farmstead: Tree Pruning Class
The weather is turning wet and miserable. Yay! Time to prune those fruit trees!
First-time pruner? Have an out-of-control and long-neglected orchard? Want to maximize production on that single, favorite apple? Well, now is the time to learn, and, for the cost of only $20 per person, Brunk Farmstead will show you how.
Darrell Ward, life-long Polk County resident and retired Master Gardener, will be teaching a two-hour pruning class November 14 starting at noon. Class size will be limited to ten students (state protocols) and the work will be done in pairs, so either bring a buddy ($20 per person) or make a new friend.
The Farmstead has a limited number of hand-tools and gloves so please bring sharpened pruners and loppers, if you have them, plus your own gloves and weather-appropriate clothing. Facial coverings are also required.
You will walk away with an informational pruning handout and confidence to tackle your own fruit tree pruning project.
