    Have you ever wondered what the first people of the Polk County area ate? Come to the Polk County Museum to see how traditional Native American foods and medicine plants of Polk County were harvested and prepared for the “Kalapuyan Pantries”. Grand Ronde Tribal member Stephanie Wood is a 7th-generation traditional basket weaver, ethnobotanist and cultural keeper with a Masters degree in Cultural Anthropolgy from the University of Oregon. She is also the owner of Kalapuya Basketry from Dayton, Oregon.
