Monmouth

Monmouth is located West of the City of Independence and East of the City of Dallas, with a population 9,720 as of July 2011. The City of Monmouth was founded  in 1856 and has been providing quality public services for more than 150 years and has its own electric distribution system.

Home to Western Oregon University (WOU), educational opportunities are abound. Ranked amongst the highest in the state, WOU is a 4-year institution of higher education, offering a variety of degree programs to more than 6,500 students. Established in 1856, the University has had several names throughout the years and is the oldest public university in Oregon, as well as, on the West Coast. The beautiful campus also boasts the distinction of having one of the largest Christmas trees in the United States.
