The Monmouth-Independence Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center was formed on May 22, 1984 to better serve the businesses and organizations of the community while promoting our area to tourists and travelers. The MI Chamber, a non-profit 501(c)(6), is a member-based organization made up of businesses, organizations, non-profits, and individuals from Monmouth, Independence, Polk County, and beyond. It is led by a 16 member volunteer board of directors and managed by a full-time executive director.
Board Members: The MI Chamber board is made up of 9 elected directors, each serving a three year term,
and 7 appointed directors representing various organizations in our community.
