Shop Local
Chamber Guide
Choice makes for a rich community.
For a small community, there’s a rich abundance of shopping opportunity all over the Monmouth-Independence area. You can grab a coffee to go, pick-up freshly baked bread, purchase local produce, or grab a good book for a day in the park; get your haircut, have your taxes prepared, or buy a handmade gift that is truly unique. If it is clothing, hardware, or a one-of-a-kind antique, we probably have what you need right here.
The Chamber of Commerce is especially proud of our locally owned businesses and supports them through our shop local program and marketplace located in the Visitors Center. These businesses add to the character that is Monmouth-Independence, contributing more than just goods and services. They offer personalized service, add diversity to our Main Streets, and bring life into our historic buildings. In addition, these businesses return those locally spent dollars back into the community through school funding, parks and recreation, and the support of local non-profit organizations. Watch for the “Shop Local” sign and support these businesses whenever you can.
